Products: UV/VIS Enhanced Silver Coated Mirrors

UV/VIS Enhanced Silver Coated Mirrors image

Because standard silver coatings do not reflect well below 450 nm, aluminum coatings are often used in the UV. Unfortunately, aluminum coatings have drawbacks of their own in terms of reflectivity and absorption. To provide a better solution, Acton has developed UV-enhanced silver coatings.

Our new #4000 and #4100 silver-based coatings overcome the inherent reflectivity limitation of silver below 450 nm and deliver high levels of broadband reflectivity (typically >98%) from 400 nm to the mid-IR. These unique coatings will facilitate new and improved instrument designs while employing the known performance and durability of a protected silver coating.

Compare the new coatings’ performance with that of standard silver coatings by selecting the Coating Curves tab below.

Applications: military optics, telescopes, spaceflight hardware, analytical instruments, ultrafast Ti:sapphire lasers

Note: Coatings can be applied to Acton standard substrates, custom substrates, and customer-supplied material (CSM). Contact us at [email protected] for more details.
